The band's history

MAB (Michail Aleksandrovic Bakunin) was born in January 1988 in Arona, Italy, from the ashes of a '77  punk band named "Bunker", and in 1988 they recorded their first 2 demo-tapes: "Si, c'č l'alternativa!" (English title: "Yes, there's an Alternative!"), and "Cavie del Sistema" (We are the System's Guinea Pigs), an angry, raw beginning that resembles the English and Italian hardcore bands of the early 80's (Wretched, Agnostic Front, Disorder, Chaos UK, Broken Bones).
Toward the end of 1989 MAB changed their bass player and produced their third demo-tape: "Chiesa Puttana" (Church is a bitch!). This demo (as always self-produced) gained an outstanding audience at the 1990 edition of the "Anticlerical Meeting" in Fano, Italy.
From '91 to '93 MAB was a trio with Max (bass and vocals), Fulvio (guitar and vocals)and Esther (drums and vocals). With this new line-up the band engraved "Farņ del mio peggio" (I'll do my worst), the fourth demo-tape that gave the band excellent reviews from the Italian music press (Metal Shock, some underground zines) and further occasions to play live in some squats (Leoncavallo in Milan, El Paso in Turin, C.S.Agrrro in Treviso) and almost everywhere in northern Italy.
In January 1993, MAB changed their line-up (from 3 to 4 members, with Gab as new guitar player) just after having recorded 9 new songs. 7 of them where included in "Barricate" (Barricades), the first 7inch vinyl production from MAB. MAB's songs of that period talked about social diseases, personal problems, anthems against state oppression and church, and also treated problems like drugs, racism, vivisection, italian mafia, war in the Eastern Countries in a deeper way than before.

8th of April, 1995: MAB's self-production "Barricate" finally sees the light!

Side A: Europa - Pellicce WWF - Mangiavano i bambini
Side B: Barricate - Mississipi Burning - Cinghialone - Dimmi chi sei ora

MAB often played live for "Barricate" promotion (the LP has been spread by the band throughout Italy), and always reaching a remarkable success. Among the best live acts of  the 1995/1996 period, we remember Treviso (once more in the fantastic Agrrro squat!!! Wonderful people, down there!), the "C.S.O. Fantasma" squat in Bergamo (but now police has kicked them out of there... bad luck!), "Delta House" in Turin, "C.S. Vittoria" squat in Milan and some other places in Mandello sul Lario (Como), Gallarate, Busto Arsizio and Varese.
In September 1996 MAB record 2 new songs,"Preservativo Rosso (Red Condom)" and"Giubileo (Jubilee)".  "Giubileo", an ironic hardcore song against the year 2000 christian catholic Jubilee of the Vatican State, in Rome, has been included in the CD-compilation "No stars featuring" produced by the Social Cooperative "Il Melo" in Gallarate.
At the end of August 1997, MAB recorded 3 other new songs and produced them on another demo-tape called "Spengo lo Show!" (I turn off the Show!). The tape includes "Lotterņ da solo" (I'll fight alone), about the human desolation at the end of this century, "E' colpevole uguale" (He's guilty the same), against vivisection and stray dogs traffic from Italy to Germany, and "Spengo lo Show!" (I turn off the Show!) about war in Somalia and against mass-media power.
